Winter Golf:
How do we all live in Virginia even though we live and breathe golf?
Probably too many reasons….so we have to deal with this time of the year when we want some outdoor enjoyment in our lives.
How to deal with playing golfA�
December – FebruaryA�in Virginia:
You’re going to be cold and stiff when you get in your car after the round, lets just start with that and accept it. A�That fact isn’t a good enough reason to stay home and miss out on your best round of the year. A�Seems weird that you’d have a chance to shoot your best round of the year on dormant fairways and windy afternoons. A�But it’s a REAL possibility.
– First idea, whatever swing you have on the driving range…that’s the one you use on the course. A�DO NOT try and adjust yourself during your round. A�If you are hooking it 20 yards on the range, then set up aiming at the right rough on every tee box. A�Your shot tracker could look a little funny in thelight but guess where you are? A�The middle of the fairway.
– Second idea, tempo…just think tempo. A�In the cold weather you can stiffen up easily, stay loose by just worrying about your tempo. A�Count out a 1-2-3-4 as you start your back swing and hit the ball.
– Third idea, take double bogey out of the equation. A�Winter golf shouldn’t include you thinking about your hero shot. A�Just think middle of the green. A�You’ll be amazed by the results.
