2020 Rees Cup – St Andrews Foursome
Sunday, April 19, 2020
Before the start of the round, teams will designate one player to hit ALL the second shots on the even holes for the round and the other teammate will hit ALL the second shots for the odd holes for the round. Both teammates will hit a tee shot on every hole. Players will then select the best drive for the team. Depending on if you are on an odd hole or an even hole will determine who will hit the next shot. Teams will continue in an ALTERNATE SHOT format from that point until the ball is holed.
Ex: Tiger and Rory are on teams. Tiger is designated as the even holes and Rory is designated as the odd holes. They are on hole #1 which is a par 5. Tiger and Rory both hit their tee shots. Rory has the better shot so they select his drive. Since it is an odd hole, Rory will hit the next shot. They continue in an alternate shot format until the ball is holed.
- Men will play the WHITE TEES
- Senior Men may play from the GOLD TEES (60+)
- Ladies will play the BURGUNDY TEES
Handicaps were determined by taking 40% of the “A” players Course handicap and 60% of the “B” player’s handicap and adding them together. You will just subtract the team handicap from your GROSS Score. (Chapman Rules)
The ball may be rolled one club length, no closer to the hole in the fairway only. The ball must be holed out on every hole. One ball rule is not in effect for this event.
If a question arises if the ball is out of bounds or not, hit a provisional ball. The teammate must hit the provisional and if the original ball is in play then the same person who hit the provisional will hit the shot. When in doubt to a rule please proceed under rule 3-3 and play a second ball.
Upon completion of play please turn your scorecards into the Pro Shop.
